Classic Waffles
Hopefully this is obvious but a waffle iron is needed for this recipe. If you don't have one, make pancakes instead!
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups milk (any milk will do, I usually use whole.)
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- a couple sprinkles of salt
- a dash of vanilla extract
Mix everything above into a large bowl until combined. If there are a few lumps, this is ok. Grease the iron if needed. Pour batter into pre-heated iron. Keep checking until they are done. Mine usually doesn't take long at all. 2 to 3ish minutes. Once they have browned a little, they are definitely done. Remove from the iron. Spread butter and syrup on top if you want or whatever you think would be delicious. I would say this recipe makes enough for a gathering. If there is going to be a large group, double the recipe.
