My Go To Pie Crust
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt (If you are using salted butter, just do a quick sprinkle.)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 sticks (1 cup) cold unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream (Use full fat)
- Grab the butter from the fridge and cut it into cubes.
- Using a large bowl, mix the flour, butter, salt and sugar together. Some people use a fork, I usually just use my (clean) hands to mush the flour and butter together.
- It should sort of look like sand or some type of course meal at this point.
- Add the sour cream with a spoon, then go back to using your hands to mush it all together. Work it until a smooth dough forms.
- At this point you will need to divide it into 2 discs, place into a container, then put it in the fridge until it is needed. Or start the process of rolling it out to make a pie.
